Bend's SURFEST 2025 transformed McKay Park into a vibrant hub of river surfing on September 13th and 14th.
Surfers from across the Northwest converged on the Bend Whitewater Park to compete for over $10,000 in prizes.
The event, benefiting the Central Oregon Surf Team Association (COSTA) and the Bend Paddle Trail Alliance, showcased the growing river surfing community in Central Oregon.
Participants demonstrated remarkable skill on the dynamic waves of the Deschutes River.
Beyond the competition, attendees enjoyed live music, local vendors, and art displays, fostering a sense of camaraderie among surf enthusiasts.
“Bend SURFEST is not just about the competition; it's about fostering a vibrant and supportive surfing community,” stated Chip Conrad, founder of COSTA.
The event also emphasized environmental stewardship, with proceeds supporting youth programs and river conservation efforts.
As the sun set on the final day, the success of SURFEST 2025 underscored Bend's emergence as a premier destination for river surfing.
